Footfall Analysis provides a fine-grained view of what is happening in all of Germany for 90 million persons throughout the day.

The data provided are mapped to a grid with an analysis of 250 x 250 meters, which covers the entire country of Germany. Along with the overall counts, the percentages per sociodemographic segment is given. These segments include the age and gender.

The data is collected via the logging systems of telecommunication operators and are fully anonymized, extrapolated and adjusted to the general population distribution. The minimum values provided are 30 due to privacy restrictions so extremely sparsely populated areas are not going to contain any count data.

Their resolution is hourly, with the day starting and ending at 3:00 a.m.

An updated snapshot can be provided daily and they are available from 1st of April 2017.

The dataset can be provided in the CSV and Parquet file formats. The geometry of the grid will be provided separately as a shapefile.
